One of the goals of the growing place is to make gardening easier for people by choosing the right plant for the right place in your garden.
The Naperville Community Gardener group learned about which plants work best in conditions from sun to shade at their most recent meeting.
“If you’ve got full sun and it’s a little drier sight, sedum are a really easy one or day lilies. For shady areas, hosta are a perennial that work quite well, and there’s a whole selection of each of those, different flower colors, heights, size, that sort of thing,” said Kyle Lambert, Perennial Manager at The Growing Place.
The Growing Place calls plants that are proven to be lower maintenance when planted in the correct spot “choice plants,” because they usually are easy to work with and live a long life.
