Fall Face-Off

Power tools, paint and presidential candidates could all be found in Naperville North’s faculty lounge this week, as the school’s different departments went head-to-head in a fall face-off.

This was the third annual Pumpkin Carving Competition put on by North’s Positive School Culture Committee, which brings teachers and staff together for different events throughout the year.

“I just think that it’s really important that we’re doing things that are fun. Our job is fun, and it’s nice to do things outside of what’s part of our regular day, and it’s just a fun way for teachers to get together and do something a little different,” said Suzanna Schweer, the ELL Coordinator and Positive School Culture Committee leader at Naperville North.

Participating departments had from the beginning of fourth period to the end of sixth period to complete their pumpkins, without any student help.

The pumpkins will be on display in the Student Activities Office, and students will have a chance to vote on which department made the best Halloween creation.

The winning department will receive a free breakfast, and bragging rights till next Halloween.
