Residents recently had the chance to weigh in on the current plan to raise electric rates as much as 7%.
The open house, put on by the city, was designed to give residents an overview of the electric utility as well as information about the proposed 6% electric rate increase to start in May and a 7% increase for next May.
Citizens could voice their opinions and city staff was available to answer residents’ questions.
The council is scheduled to do a first reading of the proposed increases at their March 18 meeting.
