Performers twirled, leaped and even moonwalked their way onto the stage at the Élan Dance Annual Spring Showcase Saturday evening.
The Naperville Park District’s Élan Dance Company presented original choreography by teachers and students, featuring a variety of dance styles at Naperville North High School Performing Arts Center.
“Choreographing was a lot of fun as well. Because I get to express my own style of movement, and it’s not always something that someone else is giving me, I get to express my own style through the dance,” said Student choreographer, Hannah Michaeu.
“We do all different genres of movement, all the choreographers feed off of the collective creativity, and I think it’s great because they can really find what they love and some times you don’t know what you love until someone presents it to you,” said choreographer Melissa Salle.
