The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce held their monthly luncheon where the CEO of the newly formed healthcare system, Pam Davis, was the featured speaker.
She took to the podium to discuss the merger between Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Memorial Hospital
According to Davis the merger will allow Edward to continue its reputation of excellence and keep the hospital fiscally viable amid historic healthcare reform.
The new way payments will be distributed means hospitals will have to have larger patient bases.
The new system, which still doesn’t have a name, will have 676 beds between three facilities and annual revenues estimated at one billion dollars.
They will have a patient base of 1.7 million people.
Davis says the hospital’s goal is to continue growing, but stay locally responsive.
The Chamber also honored Davis for her 25 years of service with Edward Hospital.
