At the latest District 203 Board of Education meeting, officials discussed high school fees for next school year.
General, participation and consumption fees for the 2015-2016 school year were estimated to total $3 million in revenue.
Chief Financial Officer, Brad Cauffman, spoke about the district’s general school fees per student, which offset costs for annual textbooks, curriculum and technology supplies. He found that District 203’s fees were lower than those of surrounding districts.
“Our general school fees for K-5th grade that’s at $68, neighboring districts are at $75, our 9-12th grade fees were at $91, our neighboring district at $105,” said Chief Financial Officer for District 203, Brad Cauffman.
The activity directors at the high schools also determined that several new clubs should be charged a $50 student fee to be fair to the other clubs that are already paying fees.
The board will approve those fees at their February 17th meeting.
