Homeowners who live in Naperville Unit District 203 may see an increase in their property tax bills next year.
At the most recent District 203 school board meeting, Chief Financial Officer Brad Cauffman presented a proposal for a property tax levy of $228.7 million, and noted the impact it would make to any existing taxpayers.
“If you had a fair value home of $375,000, you on average would expect taxes to increase $102 for the upcoming year or 1.5%,” said Cauffman.
This will only happen if the district collects a $3.1 million payment that taxpayers approved in a referendum in 2008 to help pay for capital projects.
Cauffman made a recommendation that the district should wait on deciding to collect until March, just in case the state makes changes to school funding.
The school board will vote on the levy at the December 15 meeting.
