Hosted by Choose DuPage, Ice Miller Legal Counseling and Mesirow Financial, business leaders gathered at the Drury Lane Conference Center in Oak Brook for the 7th Annual DuPage County Regional Business Outlook.
DuPage County Board Chairman Dan Cronin delivered a positive message about the economic landscape in DuPage County, citing a stable unemployment rate, maintaining a flat property tax rate and recently lowering the sales tax by a quarter percent.
“Businesses are investing in DuPage, we see more economic activity, we are proud to welcome 107 new projects to our county which account for about $570 million invested and about 3,700 new jobs,” said Cronin.
Cronin also recognized Mayor Chirico for his efforts to consolidate government in order to save taxpayers money.
Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger gave the keynote presentation. She updated business leaders on Illinois’ budget impasse and how a growing business economy can help get Illinois back on the right track.
Munger also urged the DuPage business community to call for action from Springfield to help fix the budget impasse.
