The Downtown Naperville Alliance hosted its classic car show this Father’s Day weekend to bring together families and friends in the area.
“There’s not a lot of pressure. Some car shows you go to, they want to judge it, you got to have just the perfect car and everything. And this, the people come by and they just really like to see the car and have questions about it. It’s a very laid back car show,” said Bill Gommel, owner of a 1951 Chevy Styleline.
The cars on display dated back to the mid 1900s, but that didn’t drive any children away from the scene.
“It would be a good opportunity to see the old moments when me and my sister weren’t there. They’re taking care of the cars, and yeah, I like the cars,” said Santiago Soto, who was visiting the show.
Nearly one hundred vehicles lined Jackson Avenue for this year’s three-hour event. The classic car show is expected to return to Downtown Naperville next year.
