Local small businesses attended a fair to learn how they could partner with two of the nation’s biggest laboratories.
At the inaugural fair held at Argonne “Doing Business with Argonne and Fermi National Laboratories,” businesses got the chance to learn about potential partnerships from everything from technology, manufacturing, construction and office supplies.
“We want our science to get outside the walls of Agronne, outside the walls at Fermilab. We want to have that economic input,” said Eric Isaacs, Director of Argonne National Laboratory.
Illinois Congressmen Randy Hultgren, Dan Lipinski, and Bill Foster, who was once a physicist at Fermilab, gave opening remarks and were on hand, along with directors from both labs, to talk with attendees.
More than 140 people were in attendance representing 84 local small businesses.
