The upcoming “Data Lab” organizes and visualizes school district data, including information like average class size, achievement scores, and per-student spending, comparing that information with other school districts.
“It’s often tough to interpret what data actually means when you’re looking at a big Excel file or just a list of numbers,” said Greg Gibson, District 204’s Lead Web Developer. “We want people to see how we’re doing both in isolation and when compared to other districts in the area and statewide.”
The Data Lab was designed with district goal number four in mind: “Be student and community focused.” The feature will increase the level of transparency within the district.
The Data Lab is currently undergoing testing and will be released by the end of the calendar year.
