District 204’s Frontier Campus may soon be closing its doors.
The facility is for seniors only and gives students a chance to receive high school and college credit.
The district was splitting the costs of the space with College of DuPage, who decided it wasn’t feasible anymore.
“It’s just simply mathematics. We can save the college about $230,000 a year by getting out of this lease,” says Executive Vice President, Joe Collins.
District 204 must now decide if funding the space alone is a good investment for them.
The Board of Education will discuss the future of the frontier campus at their February 13 school board meeting.
