District 204 moves forward with a contract that will save them more than $50,000 a year.
Board members approved a three-year contract with Athletico to provide athletic training to all three high schools for $97,500 per year.
This will save the district nearly $52,000: that’s $155,625 over the course of the contract.
Athletico has provided athletic training for Metea since its opening however Neuqua Valley used a hybrid athletic training program and Waubonsie was maintained by its own certified staff.
Assistant Superintendent for High Schools, Louis Lee believes consistency is key when it comes to athletics and training.
“We believe this contract negotiated with Athletico will allow us to continue to provide a high level of training services to all of our students, cost savings to the district and maintain our positive relationship with Athletico over the past years,” said Lee.
Athletico plans to expand the student athletic training program under the new contract.
