The District 204 school board meeting also revealed a draft budget for the 2014 fiscal year.
The board announced that the district has received an extra 5.3 million dollar payment from the state.
The money comes as part of the Illiniois “April Surprise,” an unanticipated 1.2 billion dollar increase in revenue.
The surprise money from the state will help the district numerous ways, from replacing a cooling machine at Wabonsee Valley High School to a new metal roof for Gregory Middle School.
At the next meeting the board will make a motion to approve the tentative fiscal year 2014 budget, and the final approval will happen at the September meeting.
