When students and staff at Beebe Elementary School heard of the recent tornado that destroyed Washington, Illinois, they wanted to help.
They decided to band together making fleece blankets and donating books to the kids that lost everything in the storm.
Second grade students made the blankets with a little help from their fifth grade friends.
“Teaching kids the importance of giving back not only to your community but to others,” said second grade teacher at Beebe, Jeanie Nauman.
Hobby Lobby gave the school 50% off their purchase, and Anderson’s Bookshop donated books as well.
