“Place Value in Values: Creating a High-Performance, Values –Based Culture,” was held at Northern Illinois University’s Naperville campus.
Keynote speaker Tom Kuczmarski, a nationally recognized expert in the world of innovation, came up with the idea after visiting the children’s museum.
“He came to the museum, loved the museum and said there’s so much connection between what we’re looking for in innovation in future employees and what the work is your doing in the museum, said Sarah Orleans, President and CEO of The Dupage Children’s Museum.
Some of those values like expectations and rewarding success and failure were included in his talk. A panel of experts was also on hand to offer advice on how other businesses can work toward producing a better company culture, which in turn leads to economic growth.
“Create a flexible and stimulating environment, fun positive energy, and encourage risk-taking. Now this is a museum, those values, this is unbelievable to me!” said Tom Kuczmarski, Co-founder of Chicago Innovation Awards.
The event was also an opportunity for leaders to network and share their personal experience with values and culture.
