After a burst pipe caused the DuPage Children’s Museum to close at their normal location on Washington Street, Westfield Fox Valley Mall opened their doors to give the museum a place to call home.
DCM At the Mall is officially open for families and little ones to explore.
“Having a place for our members to come and enjoy our little mini-museum and be able to enjoy so it’s a great opportunity for us and we are so pleased and very grateful to Westfield for opening up and saying we want you here and we want you to be successful,” said Sarah Orleans, President and CEO of the DuPage Children’s Museum.
DCM At The Mall is located on the second floor of the mall, near Carson Pirie Scott.
“The timing was great for us and the Children’s Museum team here transformed this space here in 2 weeks into an out-posting of the museum experience to the shoppers here, so we’re thrilled,” Scott Samson, General Manager of Westfield Fox Valley Mall.
Their new location featured the well-known exhibit “neighborhoods” and many other hands on activities to keep children’s minds in gear.
“I just think it’s phenomenal that they were able to put something in place like this so quickly after experiencing so much devastation,” said Kristy Perry, member of the DuPage Children’s Museum.
The Museum will be open the same hours as the mall, with free parking and pay as you will admission.
