Dancing With the Celebrities Week One

The competition is getting fierce for this year’s celebrities and last year’s winner Josh Torres and new partner, Naper Nuts and Sweet’s owner, Dominque Martucci are ready to bring it!

“I just hope everyone brings their A game because why bother losing this year,” said Torres.

But they aren’t the only ones.

“We are going to crush everyone,” said Richard Brink.

“We are going to destroy them,” said James Dutton.

“We are totally going to destroy them,” added Danielle Tufano.

“If I can handle Trump in the boardroom, pretty sure I can take on Swing,” said Nicole D’Ambrosio.

This year’s group features a ton of variety – including cha cha, swing, and even a surprise routine from Richard Brink of the Hilton.

“It’s going to be fun, exciting, interesting its going to be the Three Stooges meet ballet. We are going to merge the two,” said Brink.

While Brink and his partner Jamie are adding a comedic twist to their routine, Apprentice alum, Nicole D’Ambrosio and her partner, Nicholas are working on tricks to dazzle the judges, while using Nicole’s natural talent.

“Sometimes it’s not about the technique it’s about the showmanship and she is a good showman,” said Rodriguez.

“Not the first time I have been told that,” added D’Ambrosio.

While most rehearsals seem to be going well, Danielle Tufano and her partner, James Dutton, of Arthur Murray Naperville are working through their challenging Cha-Cha.

“She’s got mad dance skills,” said Dutton.

“Well,” said Tufano.

“No, I get mad at her dance skills,” said Dutton.

“Yes that happens, but how many times have you won,” said Tufano.

“Never with you,” said Dutton.

But competition aside, each dancer knows bringing awareness about those The College and Career center helps daily to find jobs in the community is bigger than the mirror ball trophy.

“It’s a lot more difficult than it looks and it takes a lot to get out there. But when you think about how this fundraiser is for The Community Career Center, it’s so worth it. And in the end it makes you a stronger person,” said Dominque Martucci.
