Naperville kids got the chance to demonstrate their artistic talents while helping to promote public safety month.
Officer John Gustin and Mayor Pradel recently recognized students whose drawings were selected to be included in the 26th annual “Crime Prevention Calendar.”
The free calendar went out to nearly 28, students throughout the city during the first week of classes.
Drawings depict different scenarios for staying safe, like not texting while driving.
More than 40 different district 203, 204, and private schools each submitted ten entries.
Calendar sponsors – the Naperville Junior Woman’s Club, Crime Stoppers, and Exchange Club – then picked the top picture from each school to go in the finished product.
Winners took a photo with the mayor and officer Gustin and received a certificate of appreciation.
