After walking out on their jobs and taking to the picket lines, Will County employees are ready to go back to work.
The county and AFSCME Local 1028 have signed a tentative agreement as workers returned to their jobs.
The agreement comes after 16-day strike and over a year of negotiations.
The county compromised to increase health care contributions over three years from 8 percent to 10 percent aggregate rather than 10 percent for all three years.
Employee contributions will remain banded so lower income workers pay less.
Throughout the four-year contract union employees will see step increases of 2.5 percent.
The county board will vote to approve the contracts at their December 19 meeting.
