A local rapper stopped by north central college to discuss “greatness” to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Common, who’s best known in the hip hop world for his award winning raps has also made a name for himself as an advocate.
He spoke before the event at press conference where he addressed the violence in his home city of Chicago and the role of hip-hop in society.
He brought the message of “greatness” to the students who packed Pfeiffer Hall to see him.
“Greatness is something we can all relate to and aspire to whether you’re in the inner city or in Naperville we all want more for ourselves,” said Common.
The theme of the week was Use Your Words.
