The Chorus of DuPage recently held their guest night at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.
The men’s group, which represents the DuPage Valley Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, joined together in four-part harmony for a night of singing.
“People love to hear the mixture of the chords and ringing of the sound that barbershop produces, so we like to invite people to come and sing with us and if they like what they hear, they stick around,” said Bruce Rhoades, Membership Chairman of the Chorus of DuPage.
The Chorus of DuPage holds guest night about four times a year, and accepts men of all ages and skill level to try it out for themselves.
“I was once active in theatre and chorus groups when I was in high school and a few extra curricular shows in years after and it’s been a while since I’ve been in a men’s singing group, and through a friend of mine I heard about this, and so I decided to join and see what it was about,” said Eric Goff, a guest for the night.
Tunes of the night included “Hallelujah,” the “Star-Spangled Banner” and the “Ideal of My Dreams.”
The group meets every Tuesday night and puts on holiday concerts and other performances.
