The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce has officially introduced its new leader to the community.
The chamber held a reception, at the Lisle/Naperville Hilton to welcome Mike Evans, the group’s new President and CEO.
Evans had led the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce for five years before coming to Naperville.
At 30 years old, he will be the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s youngest President and CEO to date.
The reception allowed chamber members to meet Evans and marked the end of a four-month search for a leader to take the chamber in a new direction in its centennial year.
“It’s just a wonderful time to be coming into something like that,” said Evans. “The branding opportunity for us is terrific. We’re going to be engaging businesses all around and showcasing the history of success that we’ve had.”
Evans replaces John Schmitt, who was the chamber’s President and CEO for three years, before the group’s board released him of his duties back in May.
