After months of searching, the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its new leader. The chamber’s new President and CEO, Mike Evans, introduced himself to other members, the city manager and the mayor at the municipal center.
Evans has been the President and CEO of the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce since 2007, which experienced significant growth in membership under his leadership.
At 30 years old, he will be the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s youngest official President and CEO to date but says he has a lot to offer.
“I think they’ll see a lot of energy and character,” said Evans. “I’ve had a great track record and experience in association management being with the Bolingbrook Chamber of Commerce. I think they’ll see that my commitment to the members is above all else.”
Cathy Subber, Chairman of the selection committee and next year’s board Chairman, said it’s that track record and great enthusiasm that earned him the position over the 70 other applicants.
“One of the number one things we were looking for was a visionary,” said Subber. “We’re currently celebrating our 100 years and we are looking forward into the next 100 years.”
Evans will officially start his new position on December 10th.
