The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce frequently takes a stand on important legislative issues, urging lawmakers to consider businesses when crafting legislation.
The Chamber’s latest legislative push focused on a tax reform town hall.
Speakers on the panel included Executive Director of Tax Policy for the U.S. Chamber Caroline Harris, Corporate Tax Executive Christina Immelman, and U.S. Representative Peter Roskam.
His participation on the panel attracted protesters from Citizen Action Illinois, who oppose Roskam’s numerous votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and his lack of support for immigration reform.
Inside Cress Creek Country Club, the panel discussed how comprehensive tax reform is needed to spur economic growth.
Panelists focused on how simplifying the tax code and making it more internationally competitive will be beneficial for small and large businesses alike.
Roskam and the Chamber agree that any reform to the code will have to be revenue neutral in order to be good for business.
