After a long cold winter, Centennial Beach officially opened its doors today for the 2016 season marking its 85th anniversary.
“It’s our first day, it’s opening day for memorial day weekend so this is the first day that we are open for the season,” said Centennial Beach managers Jackie Hasse and Kelly Doyle. “This is definitely a unique swimming facility it has so much history that’s grounded in it and it’s just awesome to see what its evolved to from when I started coming here as a child to now being a manager here.”
From soaking up the sun to relaxing with the family, this historic beach seems to attract visitors of all ages.
“It’s pretty cool it’s been around for a long time…There’s like enough room for everyone and it’s sometimes crowded you know but it’s like a fun hangout area,” said Kailey Mayer, visitor of Centennial Beach.
“Good attraction too,” said Keianni Dean, visitor of Centennial Beach.
Throughout the season, the beach will also offer “Weekend Adult Float” and “Special Needs Night.”
