The Naperville Municipal Band once again entertained an audience at Central Park, but this time, the entire concert was planned by a French Horn player.
Mayor George Pradel honored Florence Landorf with a proclamation for her 50th anniversary with the band.
In honor of her accomplishment, the entire concert was composed of all her favorite songs like The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Just a Closer Walk With Thee, and the Naperville School Song, as she was a graduate of Naperville High.
Director Ron Keller, who’s been with the band for 61 years, says Landorf is one of about a dozen who has had this honor.
The band has two more concerts before ending their summer season, Thursday, August 8 and August 15. Both start at 7:30 in the evening and are free to the public.
