Families gathered at Edward Hospital to remember young lives lost and instill hope for the future.
SHARE, a support group at Edward Hospital for mothers who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or neonatal death held their annual butterfly release in the angel garden at Edward.
Members gathered to remember the lives of the young ones lost as they listened to their names read aloud and were given a blessing as the butterflies were released.
“Tonight is a celebration, it’s a night to validate our angel babies who have gone too soon. It’s a chance for families to come together and hear their baby’s name read aloud, I mean how often does that happen when someone passes away. People aren’t sure how to talk about it so this is a safe place to come together – bring your family and it’s a celebration,” said coordinator for the group, Susan Villa.
This was the 11th year of the butterfly release.
