The University of Illinois Extension held a workshop at the 95th Street Library to encourage retirees to create bucket lists. This interactive event reminded seniors of the importance of setting and pursuing goals.
“(A) bucket list is important because a lot of people go through their lives with dreams and visions and goals, and I think they just don’t get around to do them,” said Susan Sloop, Family Life Educator with the University of Illinois Extension Office. “They just say, ‘One day I’ll do this or I’ll do that’ and this program teaches you to establish goals and set priorities in your life and go out and do those things.”
The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, who created a series of free workshops across Illinois like this one to help retirees fulfill their desires and check items off their bucket list, brought the group to Naperville.
Workshops will be taking place in seven other locations throughout the state this summer.
