As hundreds of fans cheered on the Chicago Blackhawks during the playoffs, one local barber knew his team would make the cut, thanks to his good luck charm.
Owner of Lee’s Barbershop, Mike Densford, had his Blackhawks themed barber chair on display throughout the playoffs, though it had a look but don’t sit policy.
But now with the cup in the bag, we made our way to the shop to see if Mike thought the chair really did make a difference for the win.
“Oh yeah, well yeah I do, I think it’s a combination of luck and superstition, the only one that’s allowed to touch the chair during the playoffs is our mailman Juan and he gives the rub on the Indian head every game day,” said Densford.
Also featured on the barber chair are autographs from players Andrew Shaw, Corey Crawford and former teammate Brandon Pirri.
Mike hopes that one day the Stanley Cup itself will make its way to the chair.
