Family and friends gathered along the Riverwalk tonight to remember and celebrate the life of longtime Naperville resident Bill Young.
Young contributed to the community in more ways than one. He was a longtime teacher, wrestling coach and dean at Naperville Central High School. He also founded and went on to be chief of the Naperville Park District Police.
Many spoke sharing stories about Young including Mayor Pradel who called Young one of his best friends.
The Mayor also joined his daughter Carol to sing “My Way” by Frank Sinatra, Young’s favorite song.
It was fitting, because those in attendance agreed, Bill lived his life, his way.
Bill Young died on June 4, he was 79 years old.
