A young entrepreneur celebrated the grand opening for his new workout facility inspired by his friend that was killed in Naperville two years ago.
Mayor George Pradel joined Steve Hlavac for a ribbon cutting ceremony for Hlavac’s gym Beyond Measure Training.
The 2012 North Central College graduate decided to create his own gym to help people change their lives, much the same way that his friend shaun wild had.
Wild was teaching second grade at Springbrook Elementary School when he was fatally stabbed at Frankie’s Blue Room on February 4th, 2012.
“He really showed me the hard work and the dedication that it takes to make something happen and to achieve your dream, which he did, at the age of 24,” said Hlavac. “So I just took his influence and used that as a motivating factor every day to help me keep going through some of the tough times of getting this started.”
Beyond measure training offers group classes for adults, fitness classes for kids, weightlifting for athletes, and TRX training.
