A lottery determined the order candidates for City Council will appear on the ballot. Twelve candidates are in the running. Ten of the candidate were at City Hall first thing to turn in their paperwork which means a lottery was needed to determine the order their names will appear on the ballot.
The official order is: Wentz, Glass, Floegel, Davis, Coyne, Hinterlong, Krummen, Krause, Habel, Malik, Gregus, Brodhead.
A referendum will also appear on the ballot.
The Yes! At Large group, which filed the paperwork, is seeking to halt the switch to a system that includes a mix of district and at large representatives to City Council. The group says voters didn’t completely understand the pros and cons of a district system.
Voters will have the chance to cast their ballots on April 9th.
