Nearby Aurora recently became the location for Jim Peterik’s music video for his newest song, Newtown (You’re Not Alone) that honors the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
The video features local children writing names on crosses and releasing 26 blue balloons, one for each victim.
Sisters Maggie and Kate Perez volunteered to be in the video.
“I think it’s a really good thing to do. It’s like a memorial for the memory of these children,” said Maggie. It’s very tragic and it feels like the right thing to do.”
“It makes me feel like I’m a good person,” said Kate.
Lisle based Jaffe Films shot the video at the Greg Zanis Estate nearly seven weeks following the shooting that killed 20 children and six educators in Newtown Connecticut.
Grammy Award winner, and lead singer of Survivor, Jim Peterik helped write the song to inspire the healing process of those affected by the incident.
Newtown (You’re Not Alone) is available on iTunes, and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Sandy Hook School Support Fund and the United Way of Newtown.
