Renovations at Naperville Central High School aren’t over yet. The district 203 school board recently approved upgrading some athletic facilities at the school.
Improvements to the exterior of the football stadium include a brick facade to match the concession stands and new metal panels and columns outside the press box to match the outside of the school. Faculty also wants to replace the windows and stadium lights.
Upgrades to the varsity baseball field will include new fencing with a netting backstop, and replaced dugouts, low-rise bleachers, and concrete walkways.
“It’ll make it blend in a lot better with the renovations that took place over the last couple of years,” Steve Mathis, Director of Buildings and Grounds for school district 203.
Construction should start by June 11th and finish by the end of summer. The entire project is expected to cost more than $800,000.
