With temperatures quickly climbing, the A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter is seeking donations for a new air conditioner for their dog kennel, after their 15-year old unit gave out.
“We’ve been keeping the windows open, putting some pools outside for the dogs to cool down, but you know it absolutely becomes a safety issue with the temperatures rising and what not so it’s crucial that we get this taken care of as soon as possible,” said Chris Stirn, Executive Director of A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter.
The staff is also looking to replace unreliable units in their intake room where animals are quarantined.
So far, the shelter has collected just over $8,000 of their $15,000 goal, which they are hoping to reach within the next couple of weeks.
