There were no lifeguards on duty for opening day at Centennial Beach. An unseasonably brisk and cloudy 58-degree day kept the public from diving in.
The pool, which was once a quarry, can hold up to 6.2 million gallons of water. In fact, just a matter of weeks ago the spot was filled up by floodwater.
Centennial Beach officials kept their promise to have the park up and running for their annual opening this Memorial Day weekend.
More the 135,000 visitors are expected to visit from now through Labor Day.
