The smell of syrup and pancakes brought thousands of people to Naperville Central High School today for the 58th Annual Naperville Evening Kiwanis Pancake Festival and Raffle.
The group prepares more than 10,000 pancakes and 9,000 sausages to feed the constant flow of hungry residents; even Mayor Pradel stopped by for a pancake fix.
Guests were also entertained by local middle school bands.
This event is the largest fundraiser for the Kiwanis. They gives money and manpower to many area organizations.
“[We spend] many hours volunteering at Edward Hospital, we do Family Shelter Services, Little Friends, Special Olympics, a number of activities that we do throughout the year,” said Mike Markowicz, the Chairman of the 2013 festival.
