Each year there are billions of dollars in tax refunds, and because of low security measures, it’s easy for thieves to steal personal information.
This year, Illinois is taking more time to get residents their refunds, in an effort to cut down on fraud.
So when can you expect to see your money?
“The State of Illinois website says that if you file on or before March 1st, you’ll get it three to four weeks after. If you file electronically, you get it two to three weeks after you file,” said CEO and Founder of Shamrock Accounting, Steve Shamrock.
