Hundreds of people from around the community gathered early this morning for the 10th Annual Hike For Hesed!
Hosted by Hesed House in Aurora, the hike serves as a fundraiser, and friend-raiser, and brings the community together to help those in need.
“It’s a nice, fun, competitive way of coming together, hiking, doing something that’s nice and physical for our own bodies, but at the same time it’s all for the guests we serve here,” said Michael Cobb, Executive Director of Hesed House.
Friends, family and even furry friends laced up their shoes for the 2.8 mile hike along the nature trail.
“It’s a great event for the community, a great opportunity to support the Hesed House, an organization I really admire. It looks like it’s going to be a great event, lots of people, kids and families,” said Mark Waldman, participant of Hike for Hesed.
Following the hike, participants were welcomed back with breakfast, games and activities and even live music by Twist of Faith.
Hesed House makes it their mission to help those in need, by feeding the hungry, clothing the naked and sheltering the homeless.
