Last Day for Christkindlmarket
Today’s your last chance to stop by Christkindlmarket Naperville. The German-inspired market at Naper Settlement will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for some last minute shopping and snacking. This year there are 45 vendors from around the world showing off their wares.
Today’s also your last day to search for the Grinch throughout Downtown Naperville. That famously grumpy green guy is lurking within independently owned businesses – and it’s your job to find him as part of the “Grow Your Heart 3 Sizes” scavenger hunt. Stop by Anderson’s Bookshop first for a Grinch passport, then stamp it as you find him at each stop. If you get 12 stamps, you can enter a drawing for a chance to win prizes on December 29 at the 11 a.m. Grinch wrap-up party at Anderson’s – where you may also spy the Grinch himself.
And you also still have time to check out Illumination at the Morton Arboretum. The tree-mendous spectacle of lights and interactive displays is closed tonight and tomorrow, but will be open through the end of the year and on New Years Day. You can look for available times and tickets on the arboretum’s website.
YMCA Hours & Luncheon
If you’re looking to keep your health in check this holiday season, the local gyms have altered hours. Today, Fort Hill Activity Center is open from 6:00 a.m. to noon, while all the local YMCA’s are open until 2 p.m. today. The YMCAs are closed tomorrow but resume their regular workout schedules on December 26. Also of note, the Kroehler YMCA is hosting a senior citizen luncheon tomorrow on Christmas, for anyone looking for someone to spend the holiday with. The luncheon will be hosted from 11:30 to 1:30 at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. You can also check out YMCAChicago.com for all the programs that are available to keep your children busy while on break.
