Downtown Parking Map
The City of Naperville is helping shoppers have an easier time find parking downtown. The Downtown Parking Viewer is a new interactive online tool that shows both real-time and historical parking trends to help drivers during peak hours. The parking viewer was developed as a result of a downtown special events analysis completed earlier this year. You can get information on the Water Street, Van Buren, and Central Parking facilities, which combined have 1,700 public parking spaces available. The parking viewer can be used on the city website.
Shop with a Cop
Christmas came a little early last night for 65 kids who participated in the Shop with a Cop program put on by the Naperville Police Department. Families in need gathered at the Naperville Target where they matched up with an officer. Kids were encouraged to pick out something for themselves and a gift for someone they love. Even Chief Marshall got in on the gift-giving action. The final bill totaled about $10,000 and came from donations through the Fraternal Order of Police-Naperville, fundraising, and their annual golf tournament.
City Hall Christmas Tree
Christmas also came early to City Hall today, as crews finished stringing up colorful lights on top of this 35-foot tall spruce. 40,000 LED lights decorate the tree, which will stand through Janurary.
It’s always exciting when Neuqua Valley and Waubonise Valley meet in the pool. The Wildcat boys played host as Neuqua picked up a win in the 100-yard freestyle thanks to Connor Boyle. Waubonsie got wins from Aayush Deshpande in both the 100 fly and the 100 backstroke. But Neuqua got wins in the 200 and 400 free relays to take the meet 127 to 86.
