D204 Tax Levy

The District 204 School Board voted to approve a tentative tax levy that’s up by 4.1 percent from last year. With new property built in the district and rising property values, the average homeowner in DuPage County can expect to pay 2.1 percent more than what they’re currently paying to District 204. The increase is projected to bring the district an additional $9.5 million. There will be a public hearing on December 10 before the school board votes whether or not to approve the levy.

Clean the World

Hotel Arista is doing its part to recycle its unused toiletries. This morning, employees packed up around 1500 pounds of soaps and shampoos as part of the hotel’s partnership with Clean the World – an organization dedicated to keeping these products out of landfills and recycling them into usable products for the less fortunate. Executive Housekeeper Micki Dobrowski has been saving the unused toiletries for over a year, and estimates there’s still about 1000 pounds of soaps and shampoos they have to pack.
