Election Day

Naperville residents braved the wind and rain this morning to exercise their right to vote. On the ballot are races at the federal, state, and county levels. If you missed early voting registration, it’s not too late! Illinois is one of a handful of states that allow same-day registration at the polling place. Polls close at 7 p.m. and you can find updates on the different races tonight on NCTV17’s Facebook page.

Polo Club Pulled from Council

Naperville City Council will not conduct a public hearing or discuss the proposed Polo Club development at tomorrow’s meeting. According to a Facebook comment made by Mayor Steve Chirico, the item is being removed from the agenda at the request of the petitioner, D.R. Horton, Inc. Council will vote on whether to grant the request at the meeting.

Halloween Safety

The Naperville Police Department announced that it made four impaired driving arrests and 45 seat belt and child safety citations during the week of Halloween. NPD participated in the statewide Halloween Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It Or Ticket campaigns to get impaired motorists off the road and get more people buckled up.

NCC Triathlon Champions

For a second consecutive season, the North Central triathlon team is bringing an NCAA Division III national title home to Naperville. Junior Grace Miller crossed the finish line as the individual champion for the second straight year with a time of one hour and ten minutes. NCC claimed four of the top five spots and bumped the college’s national title total to 36.
