Neuqua Classes Resume After Bomb Threat:

Classes are back in session today at Neuqua Valley High School, after a bomb threat caused the school to be evacuated yesterday. An outside law enforcement agency alerted the Naperville Police Department to the online threat, resulting in District 204 officials making the call to dismiss students for the day and cancel all extracurricular activities. After an extensive search of the school by officers and bomb-sniffing canines, no weapons or explosive devices were found. Police are still investigating to find the source of the threat.

Halloween on the Riverwalk:

Last night the Riverwalk Amphitheater was packed with kids in costumes celebrating Halloween a day early. The Nichols Library’s Halloween on the Riverwalk program featured children’s librarians dressed like witches singing songs and telling stories with spooky props. And of course, sweet treats were given out at the end.

Keep Safe Tonight!:

But for those heading out for all the spooky fun tonight, the Naperville Police Department is reminding you to take a little extra caution so the night can be a treat for all. Motorists should be extra aware, especially when pulling into and out of driveways, and remain sober. Trick-or-treaters can help by wearing light colors or reflective tape, avoiding masks, which can obstruct their vision, and using glow sticks or flashlights to light their way. And residents can help light up the night with porch lights and giving out only store-bought, wrapped treats – which parents need to check through when the kids get home. There are no official trick-or-treating hours in Naperville, but officers recommend having younger kids end their candy rounds when it begins to get dark, and older children head in by 8 p.m.

Naperville North State-Bound!:

For a third consecutive season, the Naperville North boys soccer team is heading to state. The Huskies scored early and hung on to shut out Lyons Township 1-0 to win the Lewis Super-sectional. North will play Lake Park in the state semi finals on Friday night at Hoffman Estates as the Huskies continue the journey for their third straight state championship!
