95th Street Plaza Funding
The Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners discussed funding for the 95th Street Community Plaza last night. Park district staff estimate the project will cost $3.6 million. The land-cash ordinance and a donation from Pulte Homes and the Wagner family will pay for most of the plaza, and staff recommended using additional land-cash ordinance funds to make up the difference. Commissioner Bill Eagan felt that money would be better used to create an indoor pool in Southwest Community Park, but the rest of the commissioners disagreed.
City Council Candidate Forum
The last of the Naperville Area Homeowner’s Confederation forums of this election season focused on the candidates running for city council. Last night, all eleven candidates vying for the four seats at the dais answered audience questions and two prepared questions. Those focused on how to respond to a potential economic recession and homeowner services like garbage pickup. You can view the forum in full on the city’s website.
