Andrew Rannells In Naperville:
A Broadway star is coming to Naperville. Andrew Rannells, of “The Book of Mormon” fame, along with HBO’s “Girls,” is appearing at North Central College’s Wentz Concert Hall on March 19 to promote and discuss his new book, “Too Much Is Not Enough.” Tickets for the 7 p.m. event are available through Anderson’s Bookshop, which is sponsoring the event. They include a copy of the book, admittance for one, a book signing and the chance to meet Rannells and take a photo.
The Naperville Police Department hosted two scam prevention seminars as part of this month’s Safer Naper program. Residents heard tips on how to prevent scams and identify theft. Investigator Don Bisch urged the audience to avoid giving out personal information over the phone, and to contact police if they receive suspicious calls. The City of Naperville will continue their Safer Naper program next month with tips on burglary crime prevention.
Forest Preserve Online Auction:
The DuPage Forest Preserve’s annual online auction sale is up and running. The auction features used service vehicles like SUVs and vans, along with a variety of used equipment. This is the fifth year they’ve taken their auction online. You can check it out at govdeals.com from now through November.
Emergency Window Coverings:
A group of students from Washington Junior High School received a Mission Maker Award at the most recent District 203 board meeting for creating emergency window coverings for the school. The students made cloth covers for over 40 windows in the building, to be put up during an emergency lockdown situation. Family and consumer science teacher Erin Owen helped spearhead the project, with students gathering every lunch period for a month to help sew together the coverings.
