Park District Updates Active Shooter Protocol
The Naperville Park District is making changes to its active shooter training protocol. Executive Director Ray McGury explained at last night’s board meeting that the drills will no longer include use of the PA system or a starter pistol. Last Saturday, active shooter training at Centennial Beach caused confusion when some in the area thought there was an actual threat. Many people at a nearby charity walk for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation were thrown into panic. McGury also apologized for the confusion at the meeting.
