Meet Amy Scheller
In March of 2019, Amy Scheller became the Naperville Fire Department’s first female deputy chief after serving more than 20 years. Scheller joined the Naperville Fire Department in 1998 as a fire fighter/paramedic and about ten years later became the first female fire lieutenant. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration, is a Designated Fire Officer per the Commission on Professional Credentialing and has been accepted into the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
Scheller says she wants to use her leadership role to encourage other young women to pursue careers traditionally dominated by men.
