In beautiful downtown naperville on the western edge of north central colleges campus is Naperville’s truly authentic Irish pub: Quigley’s Irish Pub.
Quigley’s lives up to the steep traditions set by irish pubs of old. Good people, good drinks, and good food, all for one purpose: making new friends and getting closer to old ones.
The are televisions around the but, but they are a recent, almost reluctant, addition to a place that wants what televisions don’t encourage between friends and strangers. “We want conversation,” says owner Nancy Quigley.
Many of Naperville’s movers and shakers come to Quigley’s Irish Pub to talk about the news of the day. Or the food! The menu boasts a blend of the old and the new, from classic Irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage and shepherds pie, to new twists on old favorites, like reuben rolls, or wraps served with a side of multi-grain couscous.
There’s nothing more Irish than a bunch of friends enjoying a football match over a pint, and Quigley’s posts all the televised matches on their website, so a football fan can always get his fix.
Sit at the bar and order a pint of Guinness, or relax with good company in one of the booths and small rooms around the pub called “snugs.” And as you settle in, if you feel like you’ve set foot in Ireland itself, that’s by design. “We hired an Irish pub firm out of Dublin,” said Nancy. “They sent over two carpenters and two containers full of wood and furniture and all of the bric-a-brac that’s on the walls.”
Right along with the great food and drinks, there’s great live music every Friday night. Or on a beautiful Naperville evening, you can sit outside on Quigley’s patio, where everyone is welcome, including man’s best friend!
And remember, when you dine around Naperville, you’re bound to have a great experience.
